ABOUT THE COURSE
Workshop activities include classroom discussion, Critical Thinking exercises, and group competition, guided learning, learning with artwork, Mind Mapping, role play, student presentations, table group discussion, videos for case studies, and videotaped presentations. The instructional design of this course is comparable to POST (California Peace Officers Standards and Training) standards. The workshop is a “hands on” “student centered” event for an optimal learning experience. Students receive a Student Learning Support System binder with helpful materials regarding crisis intervention methods, understanding the grief process, suicide risk assessment, and more. Upon completion of the course students receive a Certificate of Training.
