Life in the Balance: Understanding the Desperate Mind - CD-15
There is no such thing as an illogical suicide when suicide becomes the only logical act in the mind of those desperate to alleviate their physical or emotional pain. We examine five risk levels of individuals contemplating or planning their demise and offer effective tools to counter the illogical logic of suicide thinking. It may surprise you that even in the last two stages of preparation there are effective things that can be done to pull a person back from the brink. These methods of suicide intervention cannot be found elsewhere since they were developed through successful suicide interventions by the author.

Danger and Resilience in High Risk Interventions
High risk interventions such as suicide intervention, hostage negotiation, and SWAT actions pose a psychological and physiological danger to the interventionist. When one realizes that a life is at risk and the decisions, words, or actions one uses can push a subject "over the edge" or bring them back from the brink, the stress can be enormous. In this prsentation we examine the physiological, psychological, emotional, and cognitive impact of high risk interventions and how one can develop a resistance and resilience to combat the negative personal affect on the interventionist.
